How to compress a PDF without losing quality
PDFs that are too big for email or upload forms are usually heavy because of embedded images. Aurifid PDF Pro keeps text and vector graphics and only re-encodes the images.
Steps
- Tap Compress on the home screen.
- Tap Select PDF(s) and choose one or more files.
- Choose the quality: High is lossless (images are not re-encoded); Medium and Low re-encode images at lower quality.
- Optionally use Preview compression to compare one page with the original.
- Start compressing; the result card shows the new size and the saving. Save it with Export.
Good to know
- If the file would not get smaller, the app keeps the original and tells you — it never makes a file bigger.
- Text-only PDFs are already small; big savings come from scanned and photo-heavy documents.
- Good compression is not possible in the browser, so it is not among the web tools — use the app.
