How to remove a password from your own PDF
If your own file keeps asking for a password, you can make an unprotected copy. This is only for files whose password you know.
Steps
- Tap Protect on the home screen and choose Unlock.
- Pick the password-protected PDF.
- Type the file's current password in Password.
- Save; a new copy without a password is created and the original stays unchanged.
Good to know
- The app does not unlock files whose password you do not know and does not crack passwords.
- Do not remove protection from someone else's document without the owner's permission.
- Before sharing the unprotected copy, make sure the content may really travel without protection.
